The Zulal Wellness Resort will open in Qatar on 29 March as the world’s first contemporary showcase of Traditional Arabic & Islamic Medicine (TAIM). Formerly opened in 2021 by Msheireb Properties, but without an official launch. Chiva-Som is a well-known pioneer in the wellness and lifestyle industry and has been administered by the Hua Hin resort in Thailand.
The resort is located one hour from Doha in Al Khusama, Northern Qatar. It offers more than 120 rooms and suites with a range of health and recreational services for all ages. In addition to nutrition, fitness, spa, physiotherapy, holistic health and aesthetics, the resort offers traditional Islamic and Arabic medicine, based on the writings of Ibn Sina (known as Avicenna) in 1025.
Tradition Arabic and Islamic Medicine (TAIM) is recognized for its ability to restore life balance through herbal medicine, spiritual therapies, dietary and mind-body practices. Zulal is a name inspired by a connection humans have with water as an essential element of life. The meaning of the word in Arabic resembles the pure shape of water.
Fountains and water pools were created to evoke the feeling of comfort that ancient Arab sailors felt after overcoming hardships before beginning a new adventure. By keeping the resort’s design in line with Arabic culture, the resort remains authentic. In all of their products, Zulal resort adheres to the green practice policies of Msheireb Properties and Chiva-Som, as part of Qatar’s 2030 vision.
