With additional services to Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban, Emirates will provide new travel opportunities for customers traveling to and from South Africa. As of March 1, 2023, the airline will offer three daily flights to and from Johannesburg. From 1 February 2023, double daily services will be offered to Cape Town. As of 1 December 2022, Emirates will add two more flights to Durban, making it a daily service. Emirates’ newly added flights between Dubai and its three gateways in South Africa will enhance its schedule to 42 weekly flights.

Emirates expands South Africa flight schedules across its three gatewaysEmirates’ flight EK 767 from Dubai to Johannesburg will use a Boeing 777 aircraft, in addition to its double-daily A380 flight. The flight will depart at 2325hrs, arriving in Johannesburg at 0535hrs the next day. It will depart Johannesburg at 2220 hrs and arrive in Dubai at 0820 hrs the following morning. There will be more than 300 seats available each way on the third daily flight from Johannesburg. This will help meet high demand. In addition, a new evening departure will make it easier for South African travelers to connect via Dubai with Europe, the Americas, West Asia, and the Far East.

With the addition of Emirates’ codeshare and interline partners, South African Airways, Airlink, FlySafair, and Cemair, customers will also have more options for connecting to domestic and regional destinations across Southern Africa. The introduction of Emirates flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban will enhance cargo belly-hold capacity for local businesses, helping them transport vital goods between the UAE and South Africa – such as seafood, fruits, vegetables, meats, wine, pharmaceuticals, and gold.
